At the end of the journey to Ethiopia – by April 2011, I shall start working on the edition of the images I will have brought back to Brazil, and according to the amount of material, I will define the number of videos that can be made. They shall be translated to Portuguese (with subtitles), and sent free of charge to schools in the Region where we live (the Region of Sorocaba, in the State of São Paulo – counting with 72 cities and smaller towns) – this material will be distributed by each Town or City Education Department, from the City/Town Hall.
The video pack shall contain – the videos produced in Ethiopia, plus a written story of the Project (to incentive research), my individual contacts – aiming to offer Lectures on African Culture – should teachers and students alike, require it -, and also, a book with tales from Africa (Ethiopian or from other country). I plan to produce a number of 1.000 books, for free, and then by request, I shall produce more and charge for the expenses involved (production, packing and shipping).
Besides the videos, I plan to produce books containing short stories – tales and documentaries based on what I find in my research. These stories shall be written considering a number of things such as age and school level of the kids. They will be colored, and illustrated with the pictures taken on the trip.
As it is thoroughly described in the “Project”, the aim of that material is to bring African customs, colors, traditions and values a little closer to our Brazilian kids, so as to offer them an opportunity to, through understanding better a little of the whole content of that huge continent, value that part of our History – a great part of many of our ancestor’s History.
The books shall be printed in a number of 1000, and sold for the price of its cost. Later publication may be made, to request , and sold to a market price.
I am willing and prepared to offer Lectures wherever is called to, for six months after the return from Ethiopia.
